Manchester City vs Leicester City prediction and odds: Rampant City can rack up three more Premier League points
Check out our Manchester City vs Leicester City 9/10 prediction below
There is simply no stopping for Manchester City right now and Leicester City are unlikely to reverse that trend at the Etihad on Boxing Day.
Again, City have a ridiculously short price (1/6 with Grosvenor Sport) to win a home game in the Premier League, but that only reflects the performance levels of Pep Guardiola’s side this season.
City are on course to beat their previous season’s best xGA average of 0.70, reached in 2018/19 and they have won their last two Premier League games with an aggregate score of 11 to zero.
And it is at home that they are the most imperious defensively. Manchester City have conceded just three goals in NINE Premier League appearances at the Etihad this quarter and Crystal Palace have scored two in a single afternoon.
The task ahead of Leicester is enormous and, if we look back to the reverse game at King Power in September, it borders on the impossible. City’s 1-0 scoreline masked an utterly dominant performance from a City side who racked up 25 efforts on goal, while limiting the hosts to just one shot on target.
Leicester have been underperforming overall this quarter, especially defensively where they just can’t keep a clean sheet, and they would do well to break that trend against an endemic Manchester City who is only racking up chances of high quality no matter who they are playing.
Brendan Rodgers’ side somehow managed to snatch defeat from the clutches of victory against an understaffed Liverpool side in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night and that could take some time to overcome.
Manchester City vs Leicester City Prediction
Leicester surprised the Etihad loyalists in that game last season, but it takes a leap of faith to think it will turn out the same. No team have scored more home goals (25) and conceded fewer (3) than Manchester City and they are heading into this game on an eight-game winning streak in the Premier League.
Leicester have only won two of their eight away games and they are a huge 14/1 to repeat Etihad’s exploits last season, but all indications are City increasing the pressure on their title rivals and their record at home allows them to do it without cashing out. Return to win at zero at 9/10.
Recommended bet: Manchester City to zero – 9/10
